ProductThe LC connector is the best choice for SFF interfaces today. As a division of Lucent Technologies, OFS released the LC connector to the market in 1996. Since then, over 20 companies have licensed the design and currently manufacture the most widely deployed SFF connector on the market. The LC family continues to evolve to meet industry requirements, including epoxy-free versions and high-power versions tested to 5 W.

LC Connectors
The low-loss, high-performance choice

A small-form-factor (SFF) design based on a proven 1.25-mm ceramic ferrule
The familiar latching mechanism of a RJ-45 modular plug and jack
A duplex configuration that offers a high-density fiber-to-fiber pitch
The lowest insertion loss among SFF connectors at 0.1 dB average
A high return loss of 55 dB in single-mode
No-polish/no-epoxy versions for fastest application
Epoxy/polish versions for maximum performance
A single-mode and multimode product range

LC Transceivers
More speeds, more choices today

A 10 Mb/s through 2.5 Gb/s line covering Ethernet, ATM, and Fibre Channel
A single-mode and multimode product range
A wider fiber pitch to simplify transceiver design and speed products to market
Through-hole and pluggable versions
Approved or specified for the following standards:

ATM
Gigabit Ethernet
Fiber Channel
InfiniBand
IEEE 1394B (FireWire), 400 Mb/s to 3200 Mb/s
ISO/IEC 11801, premises cabling
TIA/EIA-568B, premises cabling
